Just a quick post to let those that don’t already know that I am currently in Cambodia praying to Oprah, Eliza is busy having a real life human baby and the kitty cat that does all the work on this blog is off on annual leave. So until he gets back, we’ll be having a brief sojourn. Peace.

No good bones

All of the bones are very soft & the skeleton quality is poor

Can’t move properly, likely to die in the wild

Colour of the eraser on the end of a pencil (white babies only)

No knowledge at all basically

Legendary smooth butts

Overly proud of butt smoothness, probably

Suffer from unusual diseases e.g. colic

Need assistance w/ burping

They will grow up to be teens one day

So things have been slow of late at fyiordie.

i have been in a crazy mess of paperwork trying to finish everything before I jet off to Cambodia & Eli has been doing something far more important and awesome: MAKING A BABY. Yes, a real life little human. (Not yet out in the real world, but incubating in her belly. lucky baby!)

However, I offer the following photo essay celebrating the genius that is Teresa Giudice from the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Not only does she have the best accent I’ve ever heard, her red-hot anger is matched only by her charm. She’s totally unhinged in a crazy best friend kinda way. If you got dumped she’d totally throw down for you in public, then make you eat pasta and drink multiple ~~glasses~~ bottles of wine as she rants about how important la familia and friends are to her. Then she’d suggest you put a hit on your ex and you’d both laugh but secretly you kind of think she might have been serious.

basically she’s totally awesome.

The time she threw Andy (the host) to the ground when he tried to stop her yelling in the season 2 reunion was one of the best things I’ve ever seen.

I DIE FOR HER.

My sister wife Karen Pickering has written a great article about the recent Andrew Lovett case on the Vine.com.au

“In the case of Andrew Lovett, we are once again transfixed by the terrible spectacle of another footballer accused of raping a young woman.

That this whole sorry episode is more evidence of a hugely problematic culture within the AFL is clear – binge drinking, abusing influence, using women as disposable objects (especially in the apparent obsession with group sex as male bonding) can scarcely be denied as a serious issue for the competition, and at some clubs in particular.”

Malcolm Harris has written a really interesting reverie on the last season of Entourage at The New Inquiry. He manages to pinpoint some of the reasons I slowly edged away from the series over the years. His suggestion that the show is performing a meta reality check for its audience a la Milton’s Satan in Paradise Lost is, while p’haps a mere hopeful projection, a superb analysis of the role audience and narrative play in modern entertainment.

There’s something self-flagellating in Ari’s collapse; Piven’s foul-mouthed scrappiness has carried the show for years, but it is uncovered in the seventh season as what it always has been: harassment and abuse. While yelling at his wife’s sister, Ari threatens to hit her with a frying pan. His wife responds, “What’re you gonna do? You gonna call her a whore? Bully some more women? … Fuck you.” That’s not a line from Entourage, it’s a well-aimed critique of the show’s first six seasons!

Guys. Woah. It has been too long. So long that I feel to anyone who reads this blog I need to let you know - this is not Anna! It’s Eliza! We started this blog exactly a year ago (an incredible coincidence!) as an online salon between the two of us. I am the bad half, here to resurrect my commitment to being better.

So, hey readers. I’m Eliza. And Anna, I hope you’re okay with me being back?

It seems the easiest way to reenter this whole blogging thing is dot points. Ease down the road, y’know. So here’s some stuff I’ve genuinely loved this week.

Further to Anna’s stopalreadypls to Bob Ellis, one of my favourite writers, Anwyn Crawford, has responded to the diatribe. Well worth a read.
Awwww, this guy! Take me back to a time when politics was actually political, and not school yard.
I’m prepping for a “storytelling for radio” training session tomorrow and have rekindled my Ira obsession. If you’re someone doing something creative, watch this. It’s comforting.
I think it’s really cool that at some cinemas you get Harry Potter shaped glasses for your 3D glasses. I would say that’s a lot cooler than 3D. I felt like I was watching a series of animated hallmark cards for a lot of the film. Also, I cried.
These amazing babes have just released this track through community group Lion Mountain Studio that my baby papa helped start. It’s completely incredible.
On the topic of baby papas, my soon to be babe is the size of a lettuce today! But also, I want to ask for your help. We’re creating an amazing babes wall for the plum, and want to plaster the plum’s room with as many pics of amazing women as we can. Obviously, I’ve got a great list to pilfer from over here —> but would love your suggestions too?
